The German Design Council awarded the corporate brand manual “Volkswagen Corporate Design Essentials” with a Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2007.
The “brand bible” provides a visual presentation and documentation of brand tonality and the design principles of the Volkswagen brand, targeting both Volkswagen executives and external agencies
The publication, designed by Berlin-based agency MetaDesign, has already been awarded with a Red Dot Communication award and at the Best of Corporate Publishing (BCP 2005) competition.

The Silver Award was presented at a public ceremony in Frankfurt am Main on 9 February 2007 during the Ambiente international trade fair.
At the invitation of the German Design Council, an international jury decided on the Design Award winners. 25 products out of a total of 940 nominations, including 200 from the field of communication design, were chosen to receive Germany’s only official design award.
An exhibition has been organized to present all the winners. It will tour several locations in Germany and other Countries.
