In particular, the scholarship programme for the School of Design was sponsored by Italian ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale - Industrial Design Association).
The selection is based on creative projects specific to the different courses.
For the Transportation Design Course, partecipant's task is to "design a car that might take part in the Paris-Dakar rally race", starting from a given template (see picture).
The submission deadline is 22 May 2007 for Italian students and 30 April 2007 for international students.
The entries will be selected by a Jury composed by a member of IED's teaching staff and an ADI representative, who will evaluate the ability of developing the theme, its creativity and originality.
The best projects' authors will be called for a job interview at IED's Turin main offices.
The scholarships programme is open to students under 26 years who are currently enrolled in the 5th year of High School Education or in the 4th year of a Liceo Artistico (Art School), or are already in possession of a high school diploma or have completed the 4th year of a Liceo Artistico (Art School).
The official announcement of the full scholarships will be given in July 2007 during "Apriti IED", the summer event that closes the academic year, and the best projects will be put on display.

The competition’s main objective is to award a maximum number of 10 full scolarships (that include the Enrolment Tax and the Attendance fee) and 70 partial scholarships for the three year post-diploma courses organised by IED, among all those taking part in this competition.
The value of the partial scholarships amounts to 25% or 50 % of the cost of the Attendance fee, while the payment of the Enrolment tax remains compulsory.
The Jury, described in the subsequent art. 10, will determine, based on its own unquestionable judgement, the actual number of scholarships to be assigned to the various participants in the competition.
All the scholarships will last three years, on condition that the scholarship holder end each year by sitting the exams envisaged by the course syllabus in the standard exam session and obtain a vote not below 26/30.
The initiative is open to all European and Extra-European citizens who fulfil the following requirements:
Together with the form filled out in all it’s fields, foreign students must also send a portfolio of projects by post or in digital format.
The Jury, comprised of 10 members of the IED Turin teaching staff from the ten different courses and one representative of the Partners, will assess the projects according to their unquestionable and final judgement. The authors of the most creative projects will be called in to sustain an selection interview at the IED Turin premises.
The official conferment of the full scholarships will take place during the “Apriti IED” event, during the course of which the projects of the aspiring scholarship holders will be on show.
