Based on the Porsche Cayman, the RK Coupé was created by Stola's Studiotorino and is the natural evolution of its first project, the Spyder. Its design was inspired by classic sports cars like the Porsche 904 and the Dino GT 246.

The Rk Coupé was created with the collaboration of many technical partners. Among them, Ruf Automobile developed and built all the mechanical components.

For this reason the RK Coupé bears the Ruf logo on the engine and on the hood, while the Studiotorino logo is on the sides and on the wheels.

Exterior Design

According to Studiotorino's team, the project scope was "to design an off-set that maintains all of the stylistic characteristics of the Spyder yet offers something new in the rear, seeking inspiration in the classic cars of the past but with an outlook towards the future."

The preliminary sketches were created in October 2005 by Aldo Brovarone, who took his inspiration from the the Porsche 904 and the Dino GT 246, especially for the rear trunk design.

Brovarone was assisted by Gustavo Alkmim Uemura, a young Brazilian designer, graduated at the European Institute of Design in Turin during the modeling phase and in the design of the details.

Among the distinctive styling elements are the aluminum trims and the painted grey stripes on the rear fenders and the extremely polished look of the exterior body.

Great thought was given to the color choice. The sporty exterior had to be combined with an interior with a relaxing sense of well-being.

For the body a not too flashy red paint was chosen, while the interior leather upholstery makes use of two tones of green and graphite grey accents.

The RK Coupé is powered with a Ruf-tuned engine that delivers 440 hp (323 kW) and the approximate top speed is about 300 km/h.

In addition to Ruf Automobile, several others Companies were contacted by Studiotorino for its RK Coupé project: Toora, which studied the light alloy wheels and the carbon fiber sports seats; Poltrona Frau, that selected and provided the interior leather and upholstering.
