"One concept for each Motor Show" seems to be Mini's mission: after the Concept Franfurt, the Concept Tokyo and the Concept Detroit at the Geneva Motor Show the British Manufacturer debuts... the Concept Ginevra.

It is another interpretation of the Mini Traveller Concept, and gives its contribution to the celebration of the creator of Mini, Sir Alec Issigonis, who was born exactly 100 years ago.

Design

According to Mini, the design philosophy was based on the statement : “as small as possible and as big as necessary”.

The new design features include the wide-opening doors with intelligent parallelogram kinematics, the symmetrically split double door at the rear, and the split side windows for the passengers in the second row.

the engine compartment lid hinged at the front gives the Mini Concept Ginevra a sporting look, with the wheel arches and radiator grille forming one homogeneous component without any seams or dividing lines in between.

"The diagonal joint between the side direction indicator and the side door is a genuine icon which has developed consistently over the years, originating from the welding seam on the classic MINI. The glazed window line extending all round the car and the omission of a B-pillar creates the impression of a “free-standing” roof again characterising the Concept Car just like the door handles so typical of MINI. "

The roof structure has a recess in the rear section where the spare wheel is stored.

Another feature is the multi-functional Sport Utility Box, made of moulded plastic, that can be hanged and fastened in position in the rear windows and can be customized to satisfy users' requirements.

The multi-functional wheels give the driver the opportunity to personalise the design of his car by changing the incorporated spoke elements.

The chromatic contrast between the special Silver metallic paintwork with a “chameleon” effect and the red trims and interiors have a rally racing-like appearence, enhanced by the free-standing round search headlights positioned directly above the A-pillars.

Furthermore, the engine compartment lid bears a graphic reminiscent of the classic symbol of the Monte Carlo Rally.
