The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) has selected the winners of its annual poster contest, open to Michigan local Art Schools and Communities.

From the NAIAS website:

The winning Entry by Derek Bennion "The 18th annual contest was established to engage the creative minds of Michigan’s future artists and recognize students from local art communities for their talents. Schools involved throughout the state of Michigan included 49 high schools with 313 total entries."
The poster entries encompassed an automotive-related theme and made reference to the upcoming international show.
The grand prize, the Chairman’s Award of $1,000 was presented to Derek Bennion, a 12th grade student at Dakota High School.
Bennion's winning entry was selected by the Co-Chairmen of the NAIAS 2006, Richard Genthe of Dick Genthe Chevrolet and Bob Thibodeau Jr of Bob Thibodeau Ford. The poster will be presented in the official NAIAS program and will be printed in more than 40,000 copies.
