Lego launches Vehicle Design Contest for upcoming movie

Lego has launched a vehicle design contest for its upcoming movie. The competition is open both to kids and adults and asks to build a unique vehicle using Lego bricks.

Lego is working on a movie that will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller – who also directed “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” – and will be released on 28 February 2014.

Their design contest asks participants to create a vehicle using Lego bricks only. The vehicles can be any kind of transportation devices – cars, planes, trains, spaceships – as long as they look like they were “started from something else”.

The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and will have its creation featured in the movie.

The submission deadline is December 1, 2012. For more information visit legothemotionpicture.com.

To see what can be done with just Lego bricks and get some inspiration, we suggest to check mocpages as well as the stunning spaceships created by Flickr user Dasnewten.
