Magna Steyr MILA Coupic Concept
At the 2012 Geneva Motor Show Magna Steyr will unveil the MILA Coupic Concept, a study of a three-in-one vehicle, with an innovative folding roof and seating technology.
Aimed at demonstrating the product design and engineering capabilities of the Austrian Company, the MILA Coupic is the sixth vehicle in the MILA family.
The car can be easily transformed from a SUV coupé into a sporty pick-up or an open-air convertible.
The key element of the vehicle is the innovative soft folding roof with transparent glass elements embedded in the textile material.
The top is divided into two main section- one at the front and one at the rear – that can be opened independently from each other.
The interior offers space for up to five people, and features an innovative seating technology.
When folded-up, it effectively seals off and separates the driver’s cabin, transforming the vehicle into a functional pick-up with ample room for transporting loads, such as sports equipment or bicycles.
The design of the MILA Coupic takes inspiration on the details found in modern sports shoes and combines them with the functionality and material elements of the textile field.
The construction is carried out in different layers. The lowest level is the most robust – in tune with the operational demands made on it – it provides stability.
The middle layer stands for safety and comfort, whereas the top level invests the vehicle with the typical sportiness and elegance of a coupé.
The off-road character is supported by the wheels, while the color scheme mixes a fresh, sporty metallic green – “clash green” – with satin-finished, mother-of-pearl white – “crystal white” – and aluminum highlights.
