At the 2011 Detroit Motor Show Ford has revealed the Vertrek Concept, a design study of a dynamic and versatile compact SUV targeted to the global market.
The exterior design is the latest evolution of the Kinetic language, and features a dynamic stance and flowing, expressive lines.
Designers aimed at combining a Kuga-inspired exterior with an interior cargo volume comparable to the current Ford Escape model.
Among the distinctive styling cues are the aggressive lower grille treatment, faster roofline and rising beltline with rear kickup.
The interior features four individual seats; the instrument panel showcases distinctive shapes and forms and is wrapped in leather and contrasted by the satin-tinted platinum tones of the center console.
The wing-like profile spans the cockpit and visually extends through the side glass into the rear view camera
The original floor adopts handcrafted woven-leather materials.
The Vertrek Concept is powered by an EcoBoost 1.6-liter direct injection gasoline engine equipped with turbocharger and variable valve timing system.
The unit is coupled with a six-speed gearbox, that will become standard feature on all the brand’s models by 2013.
Onboard technologies include Ford’s SYNC, active park assist, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert and Intelligent Access with push-button start.
